I have my late 2015 imac for a week now. It's my first mac, and coming from using windows for ˜20 years is definitely giving me a reason for a learning curve.

My PC is a power house, but i wanted to upgrade it so i thought wth? i'll get a 5k imac and give it a go. Don't get me wrong, i don't swim in money, i had to make some holes in order to get it, but it's totally worth it.

It's dead silent (i only hear my 2 external HDDs), it doesn't get hot (i only saw the GPU going at 96* once, while testing Dirt3 in 5k resolution at Ultra settings).
The display is absolutely gorgeous. At the first look, it seems ok - definitely an improvement but not a game changer. You can really tell when you are going back to a regular display (i use a 1920x1200 Samsung monitor). The difference is HUGE - the screen is so blurry that i thought there is something wrong with my vision.

I can only say good things about this machine. I'm posting this because i want to share a good experience.

Thanks for sharing and welcome. At this point in time an iMac is pretty much the only computer that even remotely interest me.

I also got my first Mac recently. I got a late 2015 5k iMac a couple weeks ago. And I also only have good things to say. Although the caps lock key is on a delay which just doesn't make sense to me. But that's really the worse I can say about this computer!

iMac is wonderful for viewing pleasure and basic gaming. I have a 4k LG monitor and the screen is matte and isn't crisp and sharp like the iMac.

I am in the same boat as well. ~ 25 years with PC and windows and I have been tired with all these stuff. Now I need a refresh. I have ordered the latest iMac 5k and I will have it next month because my brother will bring it to me. I don't have a lot of money too but I made some sacrifices and I don't plan to go on vacations at all on 2016. So, I believe this time the computer will make the difference and I will be very satisfied.

Welcome to the club. It's good to read some positive posts from time to time. I just got a new 5k iMac too, but I've had Macs going back many years. Each machine is better than the last, and right now these 5k computers are just amazing.

Here's a website for downloading spectacular 5120x2880 desktop pictures...the perfect size for the 5k monitor:

Thank you for the wallpapers ! I was looking for these..

I've used PC and Mac equally during my life... Mac provides consistent good experience. You could definitely build a very nice PC if you do a lot of research... 4K display has become very affordable these days.
