Hello MacRumors.
Today I need help with my older MacBook 4,1.
I recently installed an Intel 300GB SSD, and it's great.
Now I need some ideas for games that would run smooth on this computer.

These games cannot be violent, as I am giving this computer to my cousin, who is 10, so please find games that are not bloody.
Here are a few genres he enjoys.

Racing
Open world/Simulation
Sandbox
Games like Minecraft, etc.
Thanks.
I'll make a poll, so please check that out :)

Unreal Tournament 2004. It runs fine on my Core M MacBook albeit with settings turned down.

Also, look at Oni, I played it many years ago when I was like 11, I rediscovered it on Mac and have recently clocked it again on my Core M MacBook.

Hmm, I played a LOT of games back on my Late '08 MacBook but it had the more powerful 9400m. That being said, most games run significantly better under Windows than OS X.

Anyway the games I ran include:

EMULATORS! N64, NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, GBA, etc. Lots of fun to be had here with the classic games.

Half life 2 - played this on a 2002 Pentium 4 PC with an Nvidia GeForce 2 MX400 32MB or 64MB card, so that should be fine

Need for Speed Most Wanted (2005) '07 iMac runs it ok, but has a 128MB dedicated GPU. May work on low settings, PS2 plays it fine :)

Portal and Portal 2 - first one runs on a netbook, similar to HL2 requirements, 2nd one is heavier.

Spore - older EA game, but fun

Team Fortress 2 - another HL2 engine based team shooter, cartoony in appearance

Really any old PC game from around 2005/6 and earlier, or 2D/side scroller games should work. Just check requirements.
