Good headphones to replace iPod earbuds

In the 'highend' audiophile world, the two bargain headphone brands (to them bargain means $80-$300) are Sennheiser and Grado.

I myself will opt toward the behind-the ear type ( but I really disliked the Sennheiser behind-the-ear model-- uncomfortable and painful treble. )
