Good home security camera system?

I'm posting this here because this is the only forum of which I am a member.

I would like a simple 3-4 camera security system which I can install and maintain myself. I'd like to be able to monitor it from my phone but have it record locally.

Does anyone know of such a system of have experience/recommendations?

I just bought a system from Costco.ca (in Canada)...its a Lorex...I have tried the Swann version before from Costco, but the winter's in Northern Ontario (-35C often) glitched it out and it wouldn't work anymore. This being said, the Lorex is rated to -30C so I will try it out...if it doesn't work, I will return it.

They no longer have the system I bought on their website (weird), however it was on sale for $1,199.99.

However, I will piece it together from Lorex's Website as it came with the following:

Then 6x100FT PoE Cat5e Ethernet, mouse, HDMI cable, and various other things.

I will try it out and see how it works. Apparently their remote connectivity is great too.
