I've been searching the apptore and I can't believe this isn't done yet (or at least good ones, they all look complete junk). I want an app that teaches you how to write chinese by letting you trace the character one at a time with matching explanation and sound dictation to pronounce the word.

Does anyone know of such an app? Especially would love to do that with my Apple Pencil.

From the screenshots I can't really see that feature. Yes I see that there is tracing on the character that is available, but it doesn't look like it was presented in a lesson structure. It looked more like a dictionary that you can draw on.

I'm looking for a training app essentially.

It essentially is a dictionary. You can create a list of flash cards which you can then use to train. There are several modes, e.g.: it offers you the English word and you have to trace the character.

For each character it has an animated version which will show you the character order.

But, it is only a companion tool. It is not a complete solution and you will definitely need classes in addition.
