Hey just wanted to share my most recent visit to the apple store. So i am standing around waiting for a genius Bar appointment and some kid walks in and says to an apple employee "so i have a iPod Touch and i read somewhere i can do this thing called jail break what's that?" Apple employee responds with a shrug and kid says "so....... you cant tell me" and by this point there are 3 apple employees standing around him and all of them say "no" at the same time so the kid says "so you cant tell me? i..............I.......I.......I just wanted to" and he gets cut of by a female apple employee "Any modification to your iPod's software is a violation of the software licensing agreement" the kid looks around and says "ok um" and all of the apple employes walk away

I was on the phone with AppleCare while reading this and I started laughing out of nowhere and the representative was like what and I tried to make it sound like I was coughing! Haha very funny story!

The employees at my university apple store all have their iPhones jailbroken. They show customers how many apps and such they've got on them to help sell them. Of course it may just be university culture as the difference.

Nice story, fonzi. There's always a good story after going to the Apple store. My favorite is a very young kid (7 or 8, maybe) throwing a fit because she wanted an iPhone. She was literally rolling on the floor screaming about it.

I stopped in the local Apple Store today and asked if the 1.2.0 upgrade will be designed to only accept Apple and vetted SDK-developed programs. The clerk said that's probably right. I asked if that means that jailbroken touches won't play the new applications. He said he didn't know what that word meant. I asked if he was trained to answer that way and he said that's how he trains the others there to answer.

I tried that last week too, until I was escorted from the store by security. Seems like they felt someone in their 40s should be more mature. :(
