if best buy goes down frys will be king.

Wow, color me impressed with your sense of business! When you leave your California (most likely) bubble you'll realize that Fry's is most likely a grocer to many east of Arizona. With about 9 stores outside of Texas and California I cannot see this happening at all. Those who cannot reach a Fry's will shop online and not with Outpost.com but with Newegg.com. Who will be king if BB goes under? Online retailers but who is too close to call.
(I'd show BB stores but I would need more than 5 attachments to show all US locations)

Fry's Marketplace is just another name for Kroger out west.

The electronics place was founded by the sons of the brother of the founder of the grocery chain, or something like that.

Fry's, anyone? Better selection, more stock, more anime, and frankly puts BB to shame. Only thing BB would have over Frys is the iPhone.

BL.

is that a local store? never seen one.
edit: nevermind, posted before reading the whole thread.
it doesn't seem that Fry's is a best buy competitor, but i am sure BB will do fine. there is definitively space for at least one national electronics retailer, even in the current economy.
the worst part is that without direct competition service will become worse. On-line competition will keep rices honest, i think.
