I'm a designer looking to implement some project planning. I'm interested in something visual (designer) simple, and cheap.

I think it's a Gantt Chart, but am open to other ideas.

Of course, it has to be Mac.

Any thoughts?

I'm not sure what is available for less than $100. I use MS Project simply for compatibility reasons. Merlin is supposedly a great OS X-based app, though it retails for $199.

Depending on the features you need, you can get quite a bit done in Excel. It won't do a Gantt chart and automatic scheduling and resource allocations, but if you're looking for something quick and dirty (and for relatively simple projects), it could be a workaround.
