Good solution to sync data

I tried searching but not much luck. I am looking for a good, preferably free solution to keep my macbook and desktop in sync. They are on the same network

What I want synced are files/emails...data. not really interested in a complete mirror but just a data sync if you know what i mean

all files that are not system related, but user related, so yes, like video, docs, audio, but not any system kexts or anything

The only issue with this one is that it syncs online and relies on their servers.So if they are down for maintainance you can not sync. Also only 2gb for free users.

Well - if you Boot Camp, then Synctoy 😛

Otherwise, there are no good free tools. Chronosync is probably the best choice.
