I scoured the usual 3 sites that Google pulls up when searching for dynamic or light/dark wallpapers for macOS, and also happened upon basicmacguy.com and got a cool modernized light/dark version of the original Aqua wallpaper.

Any other places to look? Google thinks it's smarter than me and just keeps recommending articles on how light/dark mode works.

I want to recommend Equinox, a free app on the AppStore. It helped me create my own dark/light desktop picture for a green 24" iMac from screenshots of Adventure Time with Finn & Jake. It's in .heic format and automatically switches with the current light and dark mode setting.
