Good time to buy a Macbook??

so my brother decided to make the switch..hes considering a black Macbook with iLife 08 installed ..is it good time to buy it??
whats the expected date for the upcoming macbook?

Impossible to say, according to the Buyer's Guide it's mid-cycle, and my guess is that we're not going to see any (serious) updates until at least January and MacWorld '08, possibly even longer...

The only imminent updates for the MacBooks will be the release of Leopard IMO, which is nearly two months away. I say he should buy now.

I'm wanting to upgrade from my iBook but heard rumors about them upgrading the Macbooks at MacWorld....if this is true, I'm willing to wait. Do you think they will?

I just dont want to buy a product now and have it be obsolete in a few months. I am also wary because I bought an iPhone in Aug and now they dropped the price lol
