Good time to buy a mini?

I'm in the market for a mini, however, I hear rumors of a new mac mini (nano?) coming out around the macworld event.

What are your thoughts? Should I buy now or wait? Thanks.

Wait until MacWorld unless you really need a new Mac mini.

there haven't been many rumors about a new Mini for a while. right now though unless you really need it I would wait for macworld.

As I always say to "new mini/iMac/macbook?" threads, what are Apple's three most recently updated lines?

Hint: I've mentioned them already 😉

This January will be Mac Pro / MBP season, possibly ACDs too and software updates to Leopard, iPhone and iTunes.

You'd probably be fine purchasing a Mini, it's the least updated and with minor upgrades.

If you do have the money, purchase an iMac, it's a better deal in my opinion.

I say no. Normally I'm not in the "hold out for something better" camp but its still got the GMA950, which couldn't suck more, and the ancient 🙂rolleyes🙂 Memrom architecture. Its long overdue for an upgrade and since the Macbook was, I assume it will be sometime soon.

I'm not a Mac Mini fan (although I do have one). But, if you like the price / specs ratio and it fits you, then sure go for it.

They are fine machines. My only complaint is the performance / specifications for the money. But, it uses laptop parts, so that partially accounts for the low performance / features for the price.

For it's price, I would typically expect a larger hard drive running at 7200 RPM's and a DVD-Writer / SuperDrive in the base model. But, since they are laptop components, that keeps the price up.

it's not "long overdue" at all, it was updated to core 2 Duo and 1GB standard RAM at the same time as the alu iMacs came out. Mac Mini is always the last line to be updated.

Great time to get a mini....the core 2 duo scream for what you pay for.

i got mine just over a month ago and will love it even if something new is released. its a great machine, especially if you already have a monitor you like.

With macworld so close, id wait just to see whats coming out (I have my fingers crossed for new displays 🙂 ).
