From 2.5 version, the rating of GoodPlayer is changed from 4+ to 17+ because of the built-in browser feature. And so it is a 17+ Entertainment app, so it could not be sold in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

US App Store link for GoodPlayer: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/goodplayer-movie-player-downloader/id416756729?ls=1&mt=8
From 2.5 version, its full app name is "GoodPlayer - Movie Player & Downloader & Streaming Media Player"

Thanks!

I searched for "GoodPlayer" in the App Store with no luck; any ideas why?

Being new to this app, the iPhone, and apple products in general, I'm at a loss on how to get started...

1. I can't figure out how to get a audio file into "GoodPlayer". I currently have MP3s on my phone but playing them in the app escapes me.

2. I want to play WMA audio book files, and in this case I can't even get them into iTunes to get them on my phone.

3. Since iTunes couldn't play WMA files I downloaded a program named "Flip4Mac". When I tried to play these WMa files it told me "Unable to play DRM protected content" Now what????

I this is the wrong forum for this please point me in the right direction...

Please check this first : GoodPlayer online help http://www.hustmobile.com/goodplayer/index.html

If you have trouble with wma, please send a wma copy to us by email service@hustmobile.com
We need to check if DRM wma is okay for GoodPlayer.

The problem is I can't get the WMA file into iTunes, and therefore onto my phone, because Flip2Mac program says it has problems with the DRM. I don't yet know if GoodPlayer has problems with it.

Is there some other way to get this WMA audio file onto my iPhone without using iTunes?

There are 2 methods to add files to GoodPlayer.

1.1. Wi-Fi
Click the wifi button in the GoodPlayer application, then use web
browser of pc to upload the video to the GoodPlayer application;
or use FTP client to upload files to GoodPlayer
Note: Wi-Fi is slow sometimes; if the files are very big, please use the 2nd method.

1.2 "iTunes file sharing"
Apple help web page on iTunes file sharing http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4094
I copied some from this web page as below:
How to copy files using File Sharing

Connect iPad/iPod Touch/iPhone to your computer using the included Dock Connector to USB cable.
Launch iTunes 9.1 or later on your computer.
Select your iPad/iPod Touch/iPhone from the Devices section of iTunes.
Click the Apps tab and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
Note: If you do not see the File Sharing section shown in the image below, your iPad/iPod Touch/iPhone does not have any apps that support File Sharing.
Under the File Sharing section, you’ll find a list of apps currently installed on your iPad/iPod Touch/iPhone that support File Sharing. Select an app to view a list of the files associated with that app on your iPad/iPod Touch/iPhone.

Just test with Lion's SMB server, not support.
Only browse supported, download and streaming failed.
SMB on Lion is totally new.
We will check if we could improve on it.

Does the new SMB support work with lion's SMB implementation?

Are you going to add upnp/dlna client to good player?
I have just bought a seagate satellite and I have to use buzz player hd with it, good player doesn't browse it. Good player is better with mkv hd and it would be the best choice for seagate satellite.

thx

We are now working on the UPnP/DLNA support. However when it can be stable and comes to app store is still unknown, please wait.

WMV HD files work on Goodplayer?

I recently purchased Goodplayer purely for WMV HD 720P. Two video clips with following MediaInfo dump do not work on my IPhone 4. What am I doing wrong?

This one also doesn't play well:

For iPhone 4, both WMV files are too hard to be decoded, please forget WMV 720P for iPhone 4. Thanks.

do you recommend a converter and a format to convert to that will maintain quality? mp4,mov?

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

tx

About converter, we just use ffmpeg, but it is too complicated. MediaCoder (http://www.mediacoderhq.com/) is good. And it was said that HandBrake(http://handbrake.fr/) is good too, but we never used HandBrake.

For format, mp4 is popular than mov,I prefer mp4.
With mp4, you can use GoodPlayer iPod plugin to play 720P or even 1080P mp4 file on iPhone 4.

Uploading using WiFi for iPhone, from Mac OSX 10.4.11

It seems that Hustmobile may read this, and being fairly dejected at this point, I thought I'd try to reach out into the ether and ask this question.

I just bought GoodPlayer, and installed it on my iPhone 3, hoping to play .wmv and .flv files saved on my Mac OSX 10.4.11.

The App indicates that I need to: "Use your web browser to access the following address to upload or download the media files: http//192.168.1.69.11111"

I have tried to access this address in Safari and Firefox, with an error message for both. (I know from other fora that GoodPlayer recommends Chrome, which I will have to upgrade my OS to use -- I guess I'll have to do that eventually.) My hope is that there is some reason I cannot upload or access the address the app lists, other than not using Chrome.

At this point I have no hope of being able to use this App, despite paying for it and despite having thought I had all the necessary requirements when I bought it. (GoodPlayer folks: You might add some fine print somewhere saying that the urls you provide for uploading are a) the only way to upload files besides ftp (you can't drag and drop anywhere from a harddrive) and b) that these addresses will not work unless certain conditions are met.)

Safari and Firefox can be used too, they are just without progress indicator. If you do not care progress indicator, just use them. In fact , I am using firefox to upload a test avi file to the iPad 2 now :)

What is your detailed "error message" for the browser access?
Please note: your Mac OS X and your iPhone must be in the same sub-network(LAN). Please check your Mac OS X's IP address and iPhone's IP address
For HTTP and FTP file uploading , the same LAN is needed, and check the IP addresses as suggested.

Besides HTTP and FTP file uploading, you can try iTunes file sharing for file uploading. Apple help web page on iTunes file sharing http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4094

What's New in GoodPlayer Version 2.7
1. SMB support improved. Improve the file sorting; increase the SMB
streaming buffer size, make the SMB streaming playback smoother
2. Downloader feature improved. Add force download feature
3. .m3u file format support improved
4. Support give a name to the direct streaming media URL
5. Fix the folder password clearing issue on app upgrade. Note the
folder password keeping can be observed when the app upgrades to 2.8
in the future. The upgrade to 2.7 will still cause the folder password
be cleared.
6. The .zip file format decompressing supported. Upload/download zip
file to GoodPlayer, then go to GoodPlayer file manger, click zip file,
select "Decompress" from the pop-up menu
7. RTSP streaming playback improved. Fix the video freeze issue for
some RTSP streaming servers
8. Version information added, it is on the downmost part of GoodPlayer
"Settings"
9. Add "Write a Review" feedback function, click the upper right
corner button in GoodPlayer "Settings" , on the pop-up menu, select
"Write a Review". If you like GoodPlayer, writing a review is
appreciated and thankful.
10. More sites are tested for downloader feature: put.io, Gmail
attachment, Yahoo! Mail
attachment, QQ super attachment, Dropbox, Megaupload, Hotfile. Note:
if the downloaded file name is incorrect, go to GoodPlayer file
manager to rename the file
11. Thank Andy Richardson for the application icon

Goodplayer 2.6 lockup on iPhone 4

I am not sure what happened, but I seemed to have locked up the app. I know I had several files of MP4, FLV and MOV formats in my directory. I had one selected and I selected another. The app just shows a complete black screen with the iPhone 4 status indicators on the top. I can hit the but and close the app but when I select the GoodPlayer icon again, I just get the same black screen.

I am new to the iPhone so if there is a standard reset/shutdown procedure for an app that does this, I don't know it.

Thanks...

Do not know what happened here.
The new 2.7 version is on app store now, please upgrade to 2.7 and try again.
If the 2.7 version still has this issue. Reboot the iPhone/iPad and test again.Thanks.

I just added more fuel to my app buying addiction for my new iPad 2 after seeing this thread and purchased GoodPlayer, am yet to really put it through its paces though as the first movie I chose to upload via wifi using http is taking forever. Are any of the other options to upload much faster?

Exit the app, then double press the home button, it will then show a list of running apps at the bottom, tap and hold the icon for GoodPlayer then they will jiggle like when editing the home screen, tap the X on the icon at the bottom (not on the home screen) and that will exit the app, press the home button again and then launch GoodPlayer as normal again.

Please use Chrome browser for uploading progress indicator, it is in lower left corner.

And if the files are really big, please use iTunes file sharing to upload files.

"iTunes file sharing"

Select an app to view a list of the files associated with that app on your iPad/iPod Touch/iPhone.

are you using the correct syntax? you need to put a ":" (colon) between the ip address and the port number. i have no issues uploading to my ipad via wireless using firefox or IE.

It should be http//192.168.1.69:11111 , not http//192.168.1.69,11111

Thanks for bufffilm pointing it out, I did not notice that possible error.
