Are there any plans to bring +1's to the site? On both the front page and forums...

They're on the articles, but not on the front page.

the buttons tend to bog down the site when you have more than one.

So they are on the articles. The front page facebook/twitter buttons are static, not live buttons. they don't slow the site down.

Google offers no way to statically link to a +1 action.

I think adding those kinds of things just adds clutter to a page, personally.
