"Google Account: sign-in attempt blocked"

Since updating to 10.10.3 I've been getting email notifications from google saying "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account...." every time I reboot my mac, or wake up it after a few hours. I've tried changing the settings to allow for 'less secure' apps but I still get the emails

Anyone else experiencing this?

You are signed into Google in done System Preferences pane. So when you restart, hence logging out of Google and when restarting immeadiatly re-sign back into Google. Now Google servers are angry for this log out log log in.

You aren't alone; since upgrading I've gotten 20 of those emails. I anticipate them when checking my email every day. It's annoying.
