Doesn't matter who bought it, what matters is if it will work equally good on iOS and Android.
Just because Google bought it doesn't mean it is killed.
I've already moved away from Gmail once. I don't want to have to change my email provider yet again just to use something that should be possible to do entirely separately from email.
Not only that, I'd be surprised if this was anything but an acquihire from Google. I don't believe they will re-implement Timeful in any meaningful way.
Of course. Very Google-friendly folks, too (Khosla, Kleiner, etc.). Circle of life.
"Thanks to our investors: Keith at Khosla Ventures, Bing at Kleiner Perkins, John at Greylock, Matt at Data Collective, Chemi at Pitango, Ashton at AGrade, and others."
Yup, given that list of investors, this was the planned exit strategy from the moment they got on board.
That's how it is - accepting that investment, or seeking it even, meant that they knew from a very early stage that they were essentially developing technology for Google to use later on, with a nice decent payoff/return in the end if they succeeded.
