I have ChatGPT Plus and Gemini Pro (?) for testing purposes right now and it's shocking and scary how confidentially it is hallucinating like I asked it simple stuff like "did XY die in the season finale of Dexter" and both were making up stuff that didn't even happen.

I can't image how many people think it's only telling the truth like I hear coworkers prais it for doing competitor analysis so quickly and I am like ... how do you even know if what the results are is even true and not made up cuz it's trying to literally please you.

It also told me I need a visa (again, for testing purposes) for Oman when it's visa free for less than 14 days and when you tell it "you are wrong!" its always like "that's right! You don't need a visa ... Thank you for pointing it out "

And as more and more content is produced from this junk, just think how much worse it will become when the new garbage is absorbed into the LLM's. This is how the internet dies.

It can't even do painfully easy things properly: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/03/14/ai-fails-reading-clocks-calendars-study-finds/

I was searching for the button on my iPad and was wondering why it doesn't show up.
Great to see quick rollout, I love the functionality.

Q: Who died in the season finale of Dexter?
A: In the Dexter series finale (Season 8, Episode 12, “Remember the Monsters?”), [...] dies. [goes on to tell about a violent death and how the body is disposed]

Q: Do I as a Norwegian need a visa for Oman. I intend to stay there for 7 days.
A: As a Norwegian citizen you do not need a visa to visit Oman for a short-term stay (up to 14 days). Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months. [removed links to sources]

Sometime prompt engineering is important.

You answer is about the wrong show though. I was talking about the sequel show Dexter Resurrection.

Here is the clean professional breakdown of how [] survives in Dexter Resurrection Season 1:

What happens in Episode 9
• [] is shot multiple times during the takedown
• The shots are not center mass instead glancing shoulder and side hits
• The series shows immediate medical response from arriving units

What happens after
• [] is rushed into surgery and placed under critical observation
• The finale confirms that [] pulls through albeit with limited mobility
• [] recovery narrative is framed as slow but successful setting [] up for future escalation

Why the writers did this
• Killing [] would remove a powerful emotional and investigative antagonist
• Keeping [] alive maintains a high stakes narrative asset
• [] survival reinforces the theme that Dexter’s past cannot be easily eliminated

After I told ot that this is nonsense:

Thank you for the correction
Let’s reset to the actual, confirmed narrative of Dexter Resurrection 2025 Season 1

✅ [] dies in Episode 9
✅ The shooting is fatal
✅ [] never makes it to the hospital alive
✅ The finale confirms [] death as a permanent narrative outcome
