I'm still waiting for Epic to allow competitors sales on the Epic store.

This is a terrible analogy. No one is saying Apple has to allow certain apps on their app store. They're saying Apple needs to allow alternative app stores on ios. The Epic store is PC/Windows. They already have alternative competitors for PC like Steam, GOG and Microsoft to name just a few. I've read there are 15+ major digital game stores serving PC gamers. Because of this PC game prices are almost always better than the closed ecosystem PC alternatives like Nintendo Switch. Competition is a good thing.

Samsung has run their own app store on Android for like...forever. Some of their apps are only available on their app store.

Not really sure what Epic was fighting for.

Seems like "Google Locking down" android isn't happening. This might make Android more appealing to me.
This doesn’t do anything to change the EU’s requirement for Android OEM’s to lock down their bootloaders. And all these stores will be available via Google’s Play store so if the EU determines a store is not behaving as they’d like, YOINK, gone.

You're missing the point -- EPIC can spin up their own App Store to distribute their games without having to pay high fees to anyone for each purchase. Any of the big game makers on Android can now do the same.
That's wonderful for them, sweetie. I'm sure the hundreds of millions of people downloading the Epic App Store....lol it was barely 100,000. So, yay. Epic saves paying fees on 100,000 people.....so a small city in the USA.

Over 90% still use the default. And I don't care in the slightest about some mega worldwide corporation complaining about the fees it has to payyyyyy whaaaaaaa waaaaaaa oh no Spotify and Epic with their billions of dollars have to pay fees waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
AS for smaller devs, good luck getting ANY marketing.

I hate to be a cynic but the battle was over 10 years ago. Nobody cares. Nobody cared about the EU demand of Microsoft to give browser choice. It took Chrome a decade to tilt that scale.

And I do not trust Apple with my payment info, so why would I trust ANOTHER company? Especially one with all the same corporate desires?
