I use the G+ app on iPad and 6s+ and it works great. However, there is one thing that bugs me. I would like the app to start up by showing all of the Communities I belong to and the unread counts for each of them. I can get that page by selecting Communities from the sidebar but I would like some way to configure G+ app to automatically show that page at startup.

OK, two things that bug me. When I see that a community has 7 unread posts I would like some indicator to show up on each post that it hasn't been read yet; or maybe some way to only display the unread posts. That way I can go through the unread posts and know that I have seen all of them. For a big Community like Apple, there can easily be 50 unread posts each morning. It is a pain to read through them and keep wondering if I have read them all yet or not.

Sounds like you should try to provide that feedback to the Google+ team at Google.
