While it is good to have it in iOS, definitely not a fan of subscription service. Wonder how many will subscribe to it.

google please stop calling it Fitbit and just rebrand it as Google fit / Google health etc.

also, can we please get native intermittent fasting apps for Google health / Google fit / wearOS, and to that end, apple could we do the same for apple health / apple watch

If "Hello, I'm your health coach" came up on my phone I'd probably throw it in the bath out of pure fear!

Do people actually believe in this stuff? Surely no-one is so gullible?

I'm all for objective health data being routinely measured/estimated by Apple Watch or another device (I measure my blood pressure and weight once a week, have done for at least 10 years), but the variability between different individuals is so great that there is no way that machine learning (ML, please lets not call it intelligence) can provide anything but an average assessment for any one person.

Perhaps one day, when/if we fully understand the workings of the human body, including all the diverse implications of a person's DNA, then ML can provide something useful.

Until then, I'll rely on common-sense interpretation of the data, and my doctor!

Sounds great. Already use the Fitbit app. New purchase for me as of December 2025. Ten days battery life is handy. The app is insightful. Looking forward to the hardware updates this year that they’ve announced will be happening.

Fitbit tracking health software and hardware soo insanely good , specially sleep tracking . One of the best on market right now

My experience in terms of recent hardware quality is different. Fitbit hardware is good for about 2 years before it craps out. I’ve since moved over to Garmin with no regrets.

Either way I refuse to pay a subscription to Google or Garmin or Apple to review my own health data.

Who wears a watch while sleeping? Lol.

I wear my Garmin 24/7 except for when I take a shower, which is when it gets charged. You can see interesting stuff based on your sleep: resting heart rate, HRV, stress levels. You can see the impact of how a late meal or alcohol affects your sleep quality. It may not be 100% exact but it’s nice to have a general benchmark.

I believe concerns about potential legal liability about health information and health recommendations are a reason why Apple is pulling back from "health coaching".

Google does not appear to share those concerns, but then they have a history of playing fast and loose...
Agreed. But also it might be that:

Google’s ai powered coaching service is very good.

And Apple’s was likely very bad.

Agreed. Fitbit’s products have the feeling that they came out of a Christmas cracker.

Is Google just gonna do everything for Apple now?
No, we’re just not getting a Chatbot/Coach — and good. I don’t need AI coaching me on my health and least of all would I want Google having that data. Apple Already gives you Sleep Score, Workout suggestions based on habit, and while doing so provides your heart metrics.

There is a time to use AI and a time to pull back and —to me — I’m cool with apple pulling back on this and focusing on the aspects we actually want.

Just preordered the Fitbit Air. Bye bye apple watch after 11 years of wristtime. Hello mechanical watch collection + Fitbit air.
