Google chat in iPhone iMessages?

So iMessages on my mac's have no problem integrating with google chat, but I can't seem to get it to work on my iPhone. Am I missing something?

You're not missing anything. You need a separate instant messaging app to use Google Chat.

Hummm that should be integrated. What is the app I need to do that? I already have google voice, but can't figure out how to make it work with it as well.
