I'm about as big an Apple fan as anyone, but if you want some powerful web developer tools, Chrome's are way better than Safari's. For me, that means my primary browser is Chrome.
It kind of depends what kind of browsing you want. Chrome is more power-hungry (glad to see they're working on that), but it has just about every plugin and feature under the sun ready to go without you downloading them and unblocking them. Safari is the opposite- it's much more power-efficient, but you'll be downloading plugins and changing around settings to get it to play videos, especially on Sierra. I don't just mean Flash, either; by default, a site using Java on Safari won't load properly unless you change the Internet Plug-In Settings. Or that was certainly the case for me.
