Anyone else having insane crashing with Chrome on the M1 macs? When I had my 8GB M1 Mini 2 weeks ago I had Chrome running just fine on it, However I returned it to get the 16GB model and was setting it up today and Chrome will crash almost immediately after I try and load a page. Did know if there is a bug around or what? I am using the M1 version of Chrome.

I switched over to Brave browser and its running perfectly atm just making sure im not missing anything.

I could not run Chrome on my Mini M1 since the day I bought it, even after the 11.2.1 update still crashes

If I recall correctly, there are two versions of Chrome - one for Intel and one for "Mac with Apple Chip." Which one did you install?

M1 Version, Crashed every-time I was installing it. Yesterday I installed the Intel Version and it works, so I downloaded again today the M1 version and install it over the Intel one and finally works! I did not uninstall the Intel version before installing the Silicon one.

As of today, Chrome still working okay?
Also, on average, how many tabs do you run? And is your Mac Mini a 8GB or 16GB model? Thanks

Install Microsoft Edge. Or Opera. Or Vivaldi. Or... These are the same things as Chrome, just faster, with lower footprint and (in theory) less spying. Not sure about Edge though.

When you buyed the 1st gen product. Good luck!
You should look up the term "Beta Tester". You've obviously never sold anything. Selling new hardware was completely in the control of Apple. Questionably, from my experience with Apple, it was very premature. There was little to no reason to rush this. I found it quite early to be releasing this M1 platform and was excited because I expect companies to have experience with their hardware and OS to the point they expect it to work. That's their job. It's what they do.

I've had no issues whatsoever using Chrome on my M1 Mini, in fact I don't recall choosing a specific option when I installed it. My version is Version 89.0.4389.82 (Official Build) (arm64). Anyone know which one that is?

I get your point but the term you used "beta tester" is incorrect. You can't be a beta tester for a product which has been released to the general public. In this case "early adopter" is more suited.

I think it's a given that when new software like an OS or hardware is released you may encounter compatibility issues and certain problems.

I'm using the same version as you.

I've purchased many Macs over the years, since the very beginning of Apple. When I find them pushing GarageBand and other items like that, I'm assuming browsers, including Safari, don't barf when trying to use them. They restricted the number of displays this unit would support, but browsers freeze because of hardware issues? This is well beyond other issues, like Secure Notes not syncing through iCloud.

Thanks for the correction.

Because today's products need to be brought to market quickly as posibble, they are constantly full of mistakes. When the product could mature*, however, it is simply withdrawn or no longer available in stores.

* error are fixed or corrected in long term
