Google Chrome users on the iPhone can now opt to move the Chrome address bar to the bottom of the iPhone's display, mirroring a design change that Apple implemented in Safari last year.

Chrome for iOS can be customized to have the URL bar at the top or the bottom of the interface depending on where the user prefers it to be. Google says this is a feature that Chrome users have been requesting for quite some time.

To move the Chrome address bar, long press on it and then choose the "Move address bar to the bottom" option. Users can also navigate to the Settings menu and choose "address bar" to change the bar's position.

Nice for them to add this common sense option for the Chrome Ios users, will be interesting to see if they add it for the Android people (I know firefox on Android has the option of the address bar down at thumb range on the bottom).

The long press didn't work for me on my iPhone 15 Pro Max on iOS 17.1. The only option that appeared was "Copy".

I was able to get it done by opening Chrome, going to Settings and selecting "Address Bar: Bottom". Hope this helps!

Just remembering the uproar there was when Apple moved the iPhone Safari URL bar from the top to the bottom.
almost everyone i knew freaked out until i showed them how to move it back to the top lol

sure, my thumb can't reach the URL bar on my iPhone 11 Pro Max naturally when being held one handed, but i find myself having more reachability issues with the URL bar at the bottom.

Since I don’t use Google Chrome, I’ll never have to deal with that thankfully. It really bothered me when Amazon put their search bar at the bottom of their iOS app. I removed the app and reinstalled it, and so far it’s stayed where I want it to be, on the top.
