Google has added three new features to the Chrome desktop browser, including split view for multitasking, PDF annotations, and a Save to Google Drive option.

Split view for Chrome is a built-in tool that supports using two tabs at the same time side-by-side. Google says that it provides a more streamlined, flexible way to work. There is a split view icon in Chrome that can be clicked to enter the new view.

With PDF annotations, the Chrome PDF Viewer can be used to highlight text, insert signatures, and add notes.

The Save to Google Drive feature is meant to make it easier for users to locate their downloads. PDFs can be saved to Google Drive from Chrome without redownloading and re-uploading them. Google Drive has a "Saved from Chrome" folder for downloaded files.

I'd love to disable split view, but can't find a setting to do so.
It's an interesting idea with horrid execution, especially since it's created by dragging tabs, which is literally the same motion to group them together.

I'm just waiting for vertical tabs to hit the mainline so I can update beyond version 143, since they robbed me of scrolling tabs without that replacement.

So don't open anything into split view? Doesn't seem like anything is forcing you.

I personally love the feature, particularly when browsing RSS feeds on theoldreader. Shoot the interesting story to the right, read it, then do it again for the next.

It’s a great feature for those of us using an ultrawide monitor.

wait what?

I've been using split view for quite awhile in chrome.

edit: wait, lmfao, I'm a dumbass....I've been doing that on my PC 😆

I thought Google was killing ChromeOS and just having it Android for the Chromebooks. Did they decide to not go that direction?
