I have the mid 2011 MBP with ML, 10.8.1.

Chrome seems to crash it every few days, literally locks the machine up, I can't do anything but a hard restart. :(

Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?

Have you run the latest updates for everything?

Can you force quit the Chrome or does the whole computer freeze up?

Can you reproduce the problem in another browser?

Everything is up to date, can't force quit Chrome, nothing responds, this has never happened in another browser.

What plugins/extensions do you have installed on Chrome? I'd disable all of them and see if the problem still reproduces itself.

That's a good point, I have AdBlock installed, that is it.

Glad that solved it. Chrome and FF seem to update their browsers more often than anyone does those extensions. And even though they say they're compatible, often times they can cause a lot of problems.

It hasn't solved the issue, I meant I have AdBlock and that's it, as in, only one plugin.. I have disabled it and will see how we go.

Yes, I have had this problem since upgrading to Lion on my 2010 MBP 13. I did a fresh install of Mountain Lion and the problem still persists. The only thing I did was sync my bookmarks, so that may be one possible cause?
