this is for a PC. dont know if that matters but i would be interested to see what the stats are for os x.
here is an interesting thread, obviously not very scientific because many conditions are unknown, but the data does illustrate some good point.

AFAIK, firefox on mac manages memory about the same as its pc version, top at 120-150MB most of the time with time goes by. (heavy load flash webpages are different topic)

Google Chrome was pretty nice, I used the beta or whatever that was up a few weeks ago on my Mac.

So far nothing has been good enough to force me to remove the Safari 4 beta.

that is good to know. i guess it's just a matter of preference. you really like firefox and while it may be better than Safari 4 i just like the look and feel of Safari better. with the Stainless browser the speed is pretty incredible. deviantart.com which runs slow for me both on Safari and Firefox is very quick on stainless. but it is to stripped down to be my everyday browser.

Clevin - i dont know if you like custom icons but this is a pretty awesome for Firefox from Icon Block just scroll down it's the forth from the top.

that firefox icon is not for me. *puke*

i stick with the standard one but i did try out the "arctic fox" and "carbon fox" icons. basically white and black foxs. search it on deviant art.
