I use google for my contacts.
On my ipad with ios 7 it will sync contacts with my online google account. Same for my iPhone.

But....if I delete a contact on my iPhone the same contact won't automatically delete from my ipad.

When I go to my google account online the contact is gone.

So the ipad contact app isn't removing the deleted contact.

Any suggestions.

If you are using google, then you have it set to "fetch". Check your fetch settings on the iPad. Is it set to 1 hour, 2 hours or manual?

I have it set up using the regular google setup. No cardav.

I'll check the fetch settings when I get home to my ipad.

That could be it. I was thinking iOS6, where contacts don't sync via the Google setup.

If it remains problematic you could turn off contact syncing for that Google account and try the CardDav method.

It's set for fetch. I also press the refresh button from within the contacts app on the ipad.

So here is the test i did.
I created a contact on my ipad and then one on my iphone. Each one shows up on both devices. So that part synced correctly.
Then I deleted the contact from the device that created it.
The iphone worked correctly and both contacts were gone from the iphone.
On the ipad though, the contact that was created on the iphone and deleted on the iphone stuck on the ipad.

Contacts on my iphone is set up through exchange. This was set up from prior to google pulling the plug on exchange.

Contacts on my ipad is set up as a regular google account.

Any thoughts?

If I add contact on ipad or iphone it syncs properly to the other device.

The problem is only with when I delete a contact on the iphone it doesn't delete on the ipad.

After the iPhone contact is deleted is it deleted at Google Contacts?
Yes. When I check my contacts via web browser the contact is gone. But it's still on the ipad.

The calendar seems to work properly

I wonder if this is an ios bug.

Anyone else with this issue?

Could be a bug.

I'd suggest turning off the contacts sync as you have it set up now and adding a CardDav account for the Google contacts to see if that works better. If so, great. There shouldn't be any difference in the user experience by doing it that way.
