Haven't tried out yet, maybe via browser as @circatee suggested in the mean time while waiting for an update?

How’s your experience with google drive and battery life / impact on performance (utilization of ram and CPU)

No idea on battery life I'm afraid, running it on a Mac mini. Haven't noticed any performance issues.
