I installed the latest version, but when ever I zoom in past a certain point GE crashes. Just before it crashes the terrain starts tearing and the images turn to black patches.

I have searched the problem and seems common but no solution or direct reference to the latest version and the rMBP.

    Any ideas?

I'll just boot into windows to get around it but bit stupid.

    Two solutions:

First, look to see if your user account has the "Move_Media_Player plugin" - a culprit that's been identified in the past that has crashed GE on my systems. If your user account does have that plugin, delete it (unless you need it) - and restart GE. Its path is:
    /Users/<your user account>/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Move_Media_Player.plugin

And, when anything Google goes wonky, like GE or Chrome, I've found that deleting that app's /Users/<your user account>/Library/Application Support/Google/<Google App support folder> ALWAYS fixes the wonky Google app. I recommend dragging that support folder to someplace other than the Trash if you have custom stuff you want to retain. Cheers.
