Count on Google to innovate and to reach well beyond The Now. This looks absolutely amazing. I'll definitely be buying a pair when they're ready. Along with all the innovating at Samsung with the Flexible displays (to wear on wrists/sleeves or to open a new window of possible form factors), the future of the mobile industry will be amazing and new once again.

To be honest, those are the only 2 companies that I truly believe are INNOVATING and moving the mobile world forward.
Glass will be a whole new world of experiences when it gets released. Looking forward to it.

You're gonna drop $1400 for a pair of VR glasses?? I mean, some of these videos look really awesome, but I'd have to wait until the early adopters had run through the first few versions for me to jump on it.

I'd have to wait until they make these prescription glasses.

I thought so too until I read The Verge's article (and if you aren't following them you should; amazing articles). The entire point is that we're distracted by looking down at phones right now and no one is engaging with others around them. This allows that to happen while still getting the information we desire.

This is so awesome. I felt like the future was here when I got my first smartphone a few years ago. I felt like the future was here when I got a tablet a few years ago.

Smartphones and tablets are not 'new' to me anymore. They don't feel like the future anymore. They feel like the present for me.

But now, I feel like the future is almost here, again, when Google Glass arrives.

This might put GoPro out of business. I hope they incorparate this into full face bike helmets.

The price is too high. But I suspect the price will go down if/when Glass is released to the public. I mean right now you have to win a contest to pay the high price to use/test the glasses.

Google said that the consumer version would be less expensive, so unless you are that kind of person that needs the latest and greatest thing right now, you're better off waiting.

Plus, I would like to see if Google and better integrate the screen into a regular pair of glasses/sunglasses. Make it better hidden, a little less obvious.

I imagine in a few years time, these things will look much more like regular glasses. I think it's a great idea, and I applaud Google for pushing it. Yes the first gen might be a little bulky. But let's look at where smartphones were six years ago compared to now, then apply a similar evolution to a product like Glass.

I think that right now, the biggest obstacle is making a gadget like this conventional while also wearing sun glasses or prescription lenses. We know that Google Glasses will get smaller and lighter with time- but if they find a way to really integrate the function on top of the glasses I already wear, then that's a huge achievement. The idea of wearing glasses over my glasses (like when I see a 3D movie) or worse, wearing contacts... no thanks.

Amazing. This is just what I need, ads popping up wherever I go.
