Your account is more secure when you need a password and a verification code to sign in. If you remove this extra layer of security, you will only be asked for a password when you sign in. It might be

I certainly would not turn off 2-step verification but you do you.
Agreed. Email is an easy access point for scammers to steal one's id/digital life (eg. password reset links, mails from financial institutions providing scammer what else to go after, etc).
Can also use Chrome for just Google stuff. That's what I do: sign-in once, verify, done.
Also: is OP clearing cookies everyday/frequently? If so, stop doing that. Or some cookie blocker extension that is being overzealous?
Are you using a VPN or a shared IP address?
This generally comes up when there are multiple logins to different accounts from the same IP address so it wants to make sure there's not something odd going on or the accounts are getting mixed up
