A new icon in the launchpad "Google Search" just appeared. I couldn't find the .app file and so could not delete it. I could not delete it through launchpad. Found no uninstaller.

Anyone else?

El Capitan and I have chrome installed to watch stuff that requires flash (I removed adobe flash from my mac overall). 2013 macbook but that makes no difference.

I have Chrome installed with the auto updater turned on, and I don't have anything like that.

If you look in your /Applications folder do you see and app named Google Search?

Couldn't find it and it did not turn up using the search bar. But I looked in spotlight and it was in an odd place (not applications folder).

Removed chrome. I haven't clicked on any adware/malware. The app when clicked in launchpad just brings up a search page in chrome. Anyways now gone. If anyone else sees it on their mac just use spotlight to find and delete. 87kb file.
