The 2011 Google IO developer conference (including Android stuff) sold out in 59 minutes this morning.

Anyone know when WWDC 2011 opens for registration?

Better have a fast reliable internet connection that day if you want to attend...

    Yea...

Sucks if you have to submit the paperwork for approval to go. You have to know things like the date and cost to submit so it isn't like you can do anything early.

Firewood, the Google conference and WWDC cannot be compared as simply as you state.

The google conference is only 2 days long and is only $150 discounted for students ($450 for others). The WWDC is $1600 with no discounts.

If I was a student living near San Francisco, I would leap at the $150 conference, but not be able to go to the $1600 conference.

Very different. 11X different to be more precise. WWDC took almost 11 hours to sell out, versus slightly less than an hour for GoogleIO.
