I just noticed that pretty much all of my calendar entries in Calendar have the following text in the notes section of the event:

-::~:~::~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~::~:~::-
Please do not edit this section of the description.

This event has a Google Hangouts video call.

Even if I delete the text it comes back. Very strange behaviour...

Anyone with any ideas how to get rid would be very welcome.

Many thanks...

I don't have a solution for you, but I wanted to say that I'm experiencing the exact same issue. What's worse is, there are no Hangouts events in the calendar at all!

It's on the standard Calendar app on both the Mac and iOS. I have both iCloud and Google calendars and this issue only affecting the Google ones.

I think I've solved it! Go to Google's admin settings admin.google.com and under calendars, untick 'Automatically add video calls to events created by a user'. It says it takes up to 24 hours to take affect, so let's see...

Hmm, I wasn't able to find the toggle you mentioned. Are you using G Suite, or a regular Google account?

Hi - I use straightforward gmail but as I've got a number of users, I found that I had to be in the admin account to make the changes. But this was a few days ago and I have a brain like a sieve....
