I live on a relatively new street -- it became a public way in my won on May 1, 2006. Until today, I've never seen it on any popular web-based map site, such as google maps, mapquest, yahoo maps, and live maps. Today I went outside with my new 3G to test out the GPS capability and it located me and showed me street on the map. However, when I went to maps.google.com, my street wasn't there.

Where does the googlemaps app get its data from if not from google maps? Why would there be more updated maps on the iPhone than on the internets?
