Has anyone used the new update? If you have, what do you think of it?

Uninstalled 9 because of the annoying "feature" of having nearby attractions show at the bottom of the screen... wherever I am. Until I can hide that, I'm out. Also the search bar looks like it got bigger. I want more map data displayed on the screen, not less.

Looks like someone thinks Google Earth and Google Maps is the same app.

P.S. You simply swipe down on those images in Google Earth and they disappear.

    No, Zwhaler is correct.

The "Explore around you" banner on the bottom can't be hidden.

I'm on 9.1 and have been for several days. There is no banner on the bottom.

Oh, I'm on 9.0.0. My mistake.

So hopefully that means they got rid of that stupid banner. :)

I didn't have any banners on 9.0 either. What phone are you on?

This is 9.1 on the Nexus 5

I'm on the Note 4. It shows up on my Nexus 7(2013) too, using 9.0.

Can you turn off night mode now with this update?

I have the banner with 5.0 on my Moto G (2014). The 5.1 update isn't available for me yet.
