Google Maps' Street View technology has been updated today to include virtual tours of 11 Disney parks for parents and children to explore in advance of a coming trip, or to rekindle memories of previous visits.

The Street View coverage takes in castles, rides and attractions around the various Parks, such as Florida's Magic Kingdom Park and the Avatar-themed world of Pandora in Animal Kingdom. The feature currently only includes parks in the United States, but that may change in future, given Google's recent efforts to expand its coverage of touristic landmarks across Europe and Asia through the service.

Google Maps can be downloaded from the App Store for free. [Direct Link]

This is really cool! It makes it easier and more fun to help sketch out an itinerary for those who want to. Google maps has always been an awesome service. This type of thing (something that’s really cool and actually very useful) is what really shows things like “FlyOver” to be fairly useless gimmicks.

And I was happy when Apple Maps included the parking lot lanes.

The approximate wait time to use the app is 45 minutes from this point.

Apple Maps department seems to be sleeping.

Apple fans, yes, I know that NOT adding Disney Parks doesn't mean they don't add different stuff, but with Apple Maps.... it means exactly this : (

So...Apple sucks because Google has just added 11 of Disney’s parks and they have not? So...does this mean that Google sucked yesterday? Oh...and how long has Google maps be out? Doesn’t it make them super sorry for just doing this? This should have been done years ago. If we are using the same metrics.

I find Disney scary. So it could in fact be fun to survive a visit one day.

This commented news is just another brick in this whole Google Castle because you probably won't have determination to read all.

No that means Google has been working on it as probably a lot of other new mapping tools... while over at Apple the Maps team can’t seem to figure out how to get night mode to work consistently

Apple is busy to buy apple stock back and give shareholders dividend while a competitor in China invested 50 billions to develop 5G, or a competitor in S. Korea to build factories. Oh, Apple did one more thing. Increased price of iPhones, iMac pro and forgoten Mac mini, Mac pro........... iPads? Are you still there?

I tried for Animal Kingdom, and had no luck. Plus the satellite views show Pandora as piles of dirt in a construction site.

This feature could save me a small fortune. Now I just have to convince my family that it's just like being there. ;)
