I'm still waiting on the official Spotify app for the watch

Unless you're willing to pay more for this app, there is literally no incentive for Spotify to invest in this. You're already a Spotify listener.

Apple would benefit from this more than Spotify because it would be a reason to buy an Apple watch, but not vice versa.

Oh dearie me, I won't be able to do something on my Apple Watch that I never wanted to do in the first place.

The sky might not be falling but surely those are cracks I see. Big cracks! Run away! Run away!

Well good riddance, who wants to shop through their watch anyway? I wish we had a stock calculator app though.

I would agree with you. Some Of These third-party applications are not fully optimized for the Apple Watch in terms of managing the battery and are a huge contributor to battery drainage. And honestly, aside from that, I really don't need Amazon or Google maps installed on my Apple Watch. The less clutter, the better. And I'm perfectly fine with the stock apps that the Apple Watch already Has.

And I never transfer over my applications for my iPhone to my Apple Watch, being I use my Apple Watch primarily for fitness/notifications.

Part of it might be the fact that if you're wearing the Watch, your phone is likely to be nearby. Unlocking your phone and getting information on a larger and faster device makes more sense. I don't ever use my Watch except for being notified of incoming messages at work.

Well put, and that is why it isn't revolutionary as Tim claimed it would be. The man has absolutely NO vision or concept of reality.

The watch has to do something that the phone can't, and that's why they need to put all their eggs in health sensors. If they don't go all in on this angel, it will be an expensive notifier. (useful notifier I will add, but not a revolutionary gadget).

I look forward to the day that Tim Cool and Angela Ahrendts finally get the boot!
[doublepost=1493704997][/doublepost]Didn't see this one coming..

NA.... TOLD YOU SO!

All these apps were useless watchOS 2 apps. They're probably all rebuilding for 3.

I've had my watch since day one and don't use a single installed app. They are all rubbish.

True. But that's because it takes a lot of effort to create a usable watchOS app. Also, Apple's apps get to use private APIs that devs can't (yet).

Smart watches are and only have been useful for receiving notifications. As someone who wears an Apple Watch every day, I've only ever used it to peak at notifications and occasionally Apple Pay.

Developers are realizing it's not worth the time to update their apps for the functionality if no one uses it.

I'd argue that comment slightly. I use mine every day and use Strava & Music at least 5-6 times a week. It's great running without a huge ass phone stuck on your arm. I have to agree with apps like amazon, ebay etc - there is no point in them whatsoever.

It sounds very much like you don't really need an apple watch, that said, if mine broke... I'd probably not replace it

i use it only as a nice fitness band (just the steps/circles) and as a bonus - it nows the time each time i check. no needs for apps, so just make the battery life better... maybe an e-ink display version?

p.s. as i'm always in airplane mode, option for hide the orange plane will be awesomely terrific!

I love my Apple Watch. I upgraded to AW2. Between the GPS enabled runs, quick SMS and email notifications, and taking or making a call when my hands are full, the experience is almost priceless. It's a beautiful device. Not sure if I wasn't running it would be worth it fully, though.

I'm a little disappointed that my favourite sport, the NBA, stopped having an App a long time ago. I searched the web and was quite surprised that there was no mention of the omission. I do hope developers stay on board with the Apple Watch but my vice would be to keep the apps simple and to focus on integration.

I still think we're to early in the wearables game to declare something dead or useful in the overarching sense.

I like my Android smartwatch but I could very much live without it, but since I don't have to I won't.

Love my watch, use it every day but I never really used these apps (And I did have them on my watch as I have all 3 of the apps on my iPhone).

I don't see this as an indication of the watches health. I see it as an indication of what use was Amazon's store and ebay on the watch? the interface was too tiny to be of any use. Those apps aren't a good fit for a watch. The maps app though from Google I feel is a good fit except we have Apple Maps on there which works fine so ya know it's a hard sell.

Oh, woe is me! How will I ever be able to use these services without an Apple Watch?

Of course they do, most of these Apps where completely useless with the hardware limitation on the watch, I had the watch since day 1 it's good for some fitness apps, a quick message, read notification....but finishing an auction on ebay?
and of course Series 2 didn't provide anything new...so...

Your statement is untrue. Series 2 Includes the following NEW features over the first Gen/Series 1.
  1. Twice the brightness
  2. 50 Meters water resistant
  3. GPS Enabled
  4. S2 Processor
  5. Direct Fire speaker/microphone

It's a shame about the eBay support, but then it never worked properly for me and had limited functionality. Whether that's a problem with eBay's code or the libraries Apple provide to developers I'm not sure.

Yes, but the Series 2 contains neither a radioisotope thermoelectric generator nor any magnetic levitation technology, and it's still a right rectangular prism with rounded edges/corners, so all the points you listed don't count. What possible use could a brighter screen, water resistance, GPS, or a faster CPU be in the real world. ;)

Well, Apple better start working on implementing a radio isotope, thermal electric generator and magnetic levitation technology into the next Apple Watch. Otherwise I'm not buying it.

Google Maps is one of my favourite features for Android Wear. It's not only turn-by-turn directions (which in my experience aren't that good for walking), but it can open a full map with real-time orientation and show the route. It's fantastic for getting directions when walking, as I dislike holding my phone.

i really love using my watch for fitness, see v quickly the time and notification and best of all, using home kit

I stopped using any 3rd party apps. Just activity, workout, weather, apple pay and notifications.

All the apps I tried were to get functionality that my Blaze already did. Sleep tracking, showing steps, HR. Etc.

In fact I have gone back to using my Fitbit Blaze. As much as I love my Apple Watch it is missing a few things:

1. no sleep tracking
2. no constant HR monitoring
3. no auto activity tracking
4. HR shown on watch face is usually about 10 mins behind my actually HR
5. Health app. iOS9 it was awesome. iOS10, it stinks!

Apple Watch has the most potential but I can see why people keep going back to fitbit. 24/7 tracking, weekly charging.

For me the Apple Watch is just an expensive fitness tracker (an average one at that) with great notifications.

WatchOS4 will hopefully fix these issues!

I don’t use any of them. Not really surprised they are gone. The saying goes, ‘use them or lose them’ and that’s what’s happened here.

I get notifications on my Apple Watch from the eBay, Amazon iPhone apps (as the Apple Watch mirrors the notifications from the iPhone) for when items I’ve bought get shipped.

Shopping with the eBay and Amazon apps on the Apple Watch would not be a good experience. Much better to pull out your iPhone and do it on that. Due to the size limitations of a Smartwatch, its always going to be an extension to your Smartphone, but the Apple Watch is a lot more convenient to get a quick "glance of your wrist" notification. Notifications are just one of the many reasons I love the Apple Watch.

I agree there is room for improvement and as this is relatively new technology, then this improve as time goes on/technology improves. I would like to see the iOS Notes app been available on the Apple Watch (maybe on WatchOS 4). This would be really useful having all your Notes sync across/be available across Mac, iOS, WatchOS.

Right now it just does too much
Had to laugh. Maybe you were being sarcastic.

I have an Apple watch and love having a smart watch. Shame I may have to give it up at some point if I never replace my iPhone 6 with a new iPhone.
