Yes, it's a joke that they don't allow waypoints navigation or even routing after all this time allowing you to do waypoints on browser maps.

Exactly _what_ functionality? What I would want on a long trip is a petrol station somewhere along the route, with minimal detour. Say a 120 mile trip and I have fuel for 75 miles. Figure out the best petrol station. And I'd like something to eat at about 1pm. Again with minimal detour.

I could search for a desired food/drink type and the GPS would search in the area it calculated where I would be during my desired break time. Or it could give me a list of what was in that area. Could also search for attractions en route in case I didn't want to madly speed from point A to point B.

I got fairly lazy. Both Apple maps and Google maps recognise commands like 'take me to the office' and 'take me home'. Siri is for the easy days and Google is for the nightmare traffic jams. Waze is an itch I didn't need to scratch yet.

You must live in a different area than me. Everyday is a nightmare traffic day. Coming from one of the cities with the worst suburban traffic in America. I totally get that though, I hope to get rid of all inconveniences when wrist devices become more capable. In the mean time, I will perform my due diligence lol.
