I don't think Apple or any other reputable company has called anything "innovation" since 2009.

I can only guess. Probably something through their connected Gmail and web results advertising systems, accidental or on purpose. They kept telling me about how they were going to bring me better ads in Gmail, which I would block.

You're blaming Google but there are plenty of other ways outside of Google that your information could have leaked.

I think Apple Maps can be better than Google Maps, it's features like flyover etc.

Do people really use flyover that much? I usually just type my destination and go.

I have never ever had a problem with Apple Maps' in driving through multiple countries, sure at first it was pretty crappy, but these days i think the argument that Apple Maps are bad has long gone.

Infact there are several times when Google Maps just got it plain wrong and Apple Maps was correct (for me, i'm sure there are examples of visa-versa).

I do hope they improve the POI database though, sounds like Google are using Maps as a ad platform in the future, no thanks!!

No, I covered all of them. There's no way for someone to associate my email address with my Google searches unless I either entered it on a site (I didn't), or the same cookie was loaded on a site that has my leaks my email address and on a site that has what I was searching for, probably through an ad. Third-party cookies are disabled, which covers that possibility by itself; plus I have AdBlock, and I only used that email address to sign up for a select few legitimate sites. This was the first spam I have ever received on it.

Apple is using the same user data from Apple Maps that Google does. Google isn't the only one using your location data.

Google doesn't just spy on you when you use Google Maps.
Trust me.

No, you simply can't trust Google. Not with anything.
97% of Google's revenue comes from ads. Everything they do is driven by that fact.

So they have info about your interests for ad purposes...what's the big deal?
