Having tried Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze and TomTom iOS app, I still prefer and use Apple Maps for its smoothness and simplicity. I do agree with the others saying it would benefit greatly from "Avoid Tolls" option, a better lane guidance at complex junction, and, more importantly, faster map updates.

In my experience, for now Waze has the most up to date maps (better than Google), yet it often offers me bizarre routes through some small roads just to save a minute. Waze's new night mode is difficult to see as well, compared to the other apps.

I doubt that any other app will be able to match the iOS integration of Apple Maps, I just wish Apple would put more energy into it.

We compared both Apple Maps and Google Maps yesterday on different iPhone 6s. Apple Maps gave
a earlier alert. Under 10 seconds. I've been using Google Maps, gonna give Apple Maps a go again.

The only times I have had Apple send me a way I didn't want was when there was a major traffic jam on the highway I usually take and it sent me the really long way, so I thought. Saved me 2 hours if sitting in traffic. The only 2 times I thought it was taking me to the wrong address I later realized that the address I had entered was wrong. Once corrected it was right on the money.

In my experience, the problem with Apple Maps has been identifying POI data correctly. As long as I've had a good address, Apple Maps has been great, but only knowing a business name or type of business, not so much...
