Google Maps in Safari

What is the problem with Google Maps in Safari in OS X? I'm running a new 27" retina iMac with maxed out specs, and Google Maps and street view is totally unusable in Safari. The frame rate is comically low and laggy.

If I fire up Chrome on the same machine, everything is 60fps.

When people say Apple's internal app quality is in decline, I'm inclined to agree.

It looks to me like incomplete support for technologies Street View relies on. It's WAY better in Safari Technology Preview.

Agreed with the wizard. DLed the Preview 3 app and indeed Google Maps' services are much better represented in the Tech Preview.
