I've been having an interesting problem with Google Maps in Safari, since upgrading from OS 11.6 to 12.3.

After a few minutes of panning around the map, it just stops loading. I can pan back to where I've already seen and it's fine, but if I pan to somewhere new then I get a 'low detail' view with sharp angles and none of the street names etc. appearing.

Going into Preferences and deleting all the Google cookies resolves the issue for a few more minutes, then it jams up again.

Has anyone else run into this?

Yes, this has been happening to be since the last Public Beta or so. Going through the debugger it appears to be some kind of Safari Networking-based issue. Other browsers work fine. It's not all the time, either. Also, once google maps breaks, trying to use other google services (like searching in the address bar) fail too.

Thanks; it's good to know that it's not just me. I've put yet another ticket in Feedback Assistant for Apple to summarily ignore...

And you know what? Hard to really define but tonight I thought Google Maps looked, well, really crappy on the newest Monterey/Safari. The map lines and text looked jaggy and blocky and overly bold. I refreshed a couple of times, even quit and reloaded Safari and it didn't get any better. Maybe Apple is trying to drive us to use Apple Maps instead LOL

I haven't seen this since updating to 12.3.1. Is is fixed for anyone else or have I just been lucky?
