This happened to me a few times when parking at an airport for several days or weeks while on a trip. Nothing worse than stepping off a plane late at night and jet-lagged and not being able to find your car in the huge parking structure.
I was on a night out years ago and parked my car, then decided to move it later. Afterwards I went to the first place I parked it and thought it was stolen. I must have eventually worked it out. That wasn't in a shopping centre so this app would have been perfect for that night.

I have an iPhone 7 and have both Maps and Google Maps on my phone. For some reason I can manually add my parked location in Google Maps but it won't automatically add it when I disconnect from my car's BT; It's automatically added in Apple Maps though.

Is the auto feature in Google Maps not live yet?

not necessarily. apple maps will remember where you parked your car as long as your phone connects to bluetooth, whether you have carplay or not
You did not understand My point...bluetooth in a ww2 invasion jeep? No thanks, would give less points in veteran car contests.

Folks did not understand your point because you did not make your point at all clear - your original post talked only of CarPlay, which is not the same thing as Bluetooth, though it may use Bluetooth. I don't have CarPlay in my car, though I do have BlueTooth (in the factory stereo), and Apple Maps does, indeed, track where I parked my car automatically. If you don't have and won't put Bluetooth in your keep (that's fine, it's your choice, nobody's trying to make you do that), how would you expect Apple Maps to be able to determine that you'd parked? Magic?

Has anyone actually seen Google Maps on their iPhone automatically mark their parked location after disconnecting from the car's BT?

Apple Maps is marking my parked locations automatically and in Google Maps I can manually mark it but it's not automatically doing it, which I thought the latest Google Maps update was supposed to add (if I'm not mistaken).

Do American people really forget where they have left their second biggest (usually) asset? This sounds like a feature very few people would need.

Nothing to do with Americans. Also assets are not things that depreciate as soon as purchased

I've done this for years if i am somewhere unfamiliar. Pull phone out, drop pin, label : Car.

If you're in an unfamiliar mall or whatever, figuring out which entrance you entered after spending time wandering around can be tricky.

Exactly, that's why I'm not using google maps to find my car,I prefer car finder, that marks the spot where I park,so I can easily find my way back. Works with all kinds of vehicles, boats or planes,as all that's needed is a few taps on the phone.
