Not sure if its been me mentioned on here, but Google have added Street View back on to their web based Maps.
I can confirm that Street View is back with iOS 6. I've just used it on my iPad 3.
Basically you go to maps.google.com and add the page to your Home Screen.
Once you've done that, click on it. Next enter the street name, town/city in the search bar at the top of the Google Maps page.
After you've entered this information, you will see a orange/red balloon on the map with a letter A on it.
Now at the very bottom right side of the screen you will see a road sign symbol and to the right of that, a person symbol. Click on the person symbol and you will be put on Street View on that street.
