No matter what Google may do, some here will continue using their products because they like how Google syncs. Many here appear to suffer from battered wife syndrome and they aren’t even female.

If you value honesty, security and privacy, it is best you get rid of all things Google.

I didn’t even know about this change, so the ACCC have a good point.

Unfortunately, this lawsuit is just a slap on the wrist for Google.

I can't remember a single time I've been asked to opt into any of the tracking Google performs. I don't even mind that much, just don't tell us you're obtaining consent when you're not.

My personal favorite was when if you signed into Gmail in Chrome, it would automatically sign you into Chrome as well. All your web browsing was being recorded automatically then as well and tied to your Gmail account. This could prove problematic when you use your work computer to check Gmail or use Chrome...

I literally had this happen on my work computer. I had to access and email while at work and it tried to combine all my work bookmarks with my personal ones (for years ago as I don't use Chrome anymore). I'm so glad I caught the popup asking about it, cause that would have been a nightmare to fix.

Google does everything in their power to collect as much data as they can about you. It would be foolish to believe Google cares about your privacy. For me the best solution is cutting off Google from my life. I installed /e/ OS from e foundation on my mobile. This is ungoogled android that doesn't send any data to Google, like your location etc. It is a must if you want privacy.
