I tried doing the following on in Google Now, though it does not seem to be working.
"Note to self," From what I understand, it is supposed to then email to your Gmail for later review, though it never gets that far. What is the actual command?
Thanks.
If you have Evernote installed you can have it save the note to that instead of Gmail. But you don't get the voice recording saved with the note like you do in gmail. I just have not been fond of using gmail for notes.
Presumably other notes apps can work with it too.

That also works with Google Keep. Also, there are more cards coming to Google Now.
Thanks. Ironically I was just about to post again, mentioning how it works with google keep (was searching google note synching). Can't believe I never knew about Keep before. I like it.
Loving the Keep app on my Note 2 as well. My new go-to notes app.

It works for me. Are you on at least 4.1.2 or later? I don't think it works before that.
I downloaded the new Google Keep app and use the note to self command to save notes directly into the Keep app. Works perfectly.
thanks for posting this. Just switched over to keep for notes now.
It is so intuitive. I was thinking, "hmmm, how do I make it so the notes save there." Just launched google now, did a note to self, and it brought up the window to choose how to save the note 🙂
I dont find it so great. You can do a note to self but it only works well if you remember to open Keep to see your reminders. There is no notification options that i see.
hmm, did you test it? I'll schedule a note for 10 mins out and see what it does.
I did, send not to self to remind me to pay a bill at 11:30 am, ...didnt get a reminder or notification. That App isnt very good imo.....yet.
It remembers your choice when, after selecting the app to use, you tap "Always" instead of "Just once."Last night after seeing this thread I decided to try and have my phone save my note. Like others, it gave me the screen to choose which app to save to. I chose Keep. Today, I had it save a few other notes and now it saves automatically to note. I like how it remembered my choice. I wish it would remember my preferred choice for other apps because it seems to always ask me every time such as opening something in a browser etc.

Keep in mind it is a one-to-one relationship between this app and that app. Ergo, if I set Chrome to be used "always" for browser links in the Gmail app the Gmail app won't ask me again if I tap a link. But if I tapped a link in another mail app it will ask me which browser to use (till I choose the always option).
Finally, if I install a new browser it will ask again--in order to let me choose the newly installed browser as the default.

Doesn't happen for me. Unless, as I indicated, I install another app or use a different app for whatever is going to open up yet a another app. (A cookie for anyone who understood that sentence.)Except some things it is "Broken" with as it keeps asking me what app to open a picture or other things with over and over.

Many others have posted about it on Android Central.
If it was a wide-spread issue it would be all over the place. Perhaps they are upset that updating an app will lose its "always" setting (I can understand that). Many others have posted about it on Android Central.
