Yes. And useless for scientific research because of it. Hard to understand why the program can't check for whether the actual citations exist before confabulating. It makes up references. It’s a generative language model and it will generate answers that could be correct but are not.
I asked ChatGPT to list some of my published research articles and it made up some reasonable sounding ones with people I could conceivably have published with but none of the references were real.
ChatGPT can produce excellent and accurate information but it will confabulate information (others use the term hallucinate but that’s not what’s happening, it’s a confabulation).
It always takes a little longer for Australia to get things. Not available in Australia as yet it would appear.
Yea my first query will be "Tell me the tale of Skara Brae"Bard. Who comes up with these names?
Says a lot that you equate malware and phishing creations with the bumper sticker slogan “strong censorship “ does that mean it’s too woke??😂People are stabbing people with knives…and setting fire to people’s home… I get the optimism with us being able to make fire and to have knives, but there’s a reason we can’t have good things…
By the way, I think the current AIs have very strong censorship, rather than too little.
One area I find AI technology highly questionable is ethics regarding the source data. It's basically fed all the hard work of Earth's population and is spitting it back to us without crediting or compensating anyone. This is important because inevitably AI technology will destroy or severely diminish many professions. Why searching for a photo for a brochure and paying for it to the photographer when you can ask AI to generate a photorealistic image based on countless images it crawled before and pay the corporation? Can you explain to me what have you seen in ChatGPT and Bard that needs regulation? In what ways is something like this a menace to society?
I seriously do not understand all these cries for regulation.
Yeah, more like Google Barf 🤣First, Bard? What kinda name is that?
Secondly, Google Bard can’t write a function that adds two numbers.

This is a surefire way to get a very biased ai.We need an ai that sources its data from reputable books and universities only
People said the same thing when "Google" was first announced I bet.First, Bard? What kinda name is that?
