I saw a supposed leak today of the Pixel 5. Please take the leak with a grain of salt.
But I am excited about the Pixel 5.

Google is notorious for having 3 different models for their pixel phones and narrow it down to one mid year. Also wouldn't be shocked if they leaked that design to gauge the public reaction.

Good article. I’m honestly fine with the “midrange” model that they released at flagship prices now that is being sold at a midrange price. They should do that from the start.
I wouldn't mind a hard plastic side and back to keep the cost down but would still want the latest SoC

I think even if they literally keep doing what they’re doing with upgrades to stay somewhat current (ie. Pixel 4 XL), and charge $799, I’d consider migrating to the Google ecosystem.

Been saying for a while they should stop playing around with flagship phones and just continue the Nexus mentality. Cost some costs on materials and other bells and whistles and focus on a smooth experience. Almost like a slightly beefed up 3a.

Um... Anyone else see this? 🤡

Would be nice if good brought back the Nexus line. The pricing is getting out of hand, so are the camera sensors and one-upmanship.

That looks ridiculous. I hope Google focuses as much attention on video this time as they do photos ... because even after all these years ... their video is a steaming pile of dog crap compared to literally everyone else.

Still looks better than the Pro Max camera in my opinion. Not that I care one little bit, I’m not someone who gazes at the back of their phone all day.

And while video lags behind a lot of other manufacturers, it’s not as bad as some make out. Certainly not like the comment above.

It doesn't look good, but how often do we look at the back of our phones and how quickly do we get used to even the most odd designs?

You looks at your screen constantly throughout the day and when apple introduced the notch, we all agreed it looked ridiculous. In reality, you get used to it in about a day. And that's for something you are constantly looking at.

For one thing it's in the middle where it should be.
Then turn your iPhone around...how does that notch look?
Oh the notch is horrendous. I can't wait until Apple gets rid of that. That's one thing I enjoyed when I had the Pixel 4 XL was that it was all screen. And the 90 Hz refresh rate was nice as well.

I think it looks comical (and distinctive and cute), but if it's an improvement, I don't care.

The leaked device is really ugly, but again, I don't really care what the back looks like for the most part. For me, what the Pixel 5 needs to improve for me to be interested is...

1. Battery life
2. Video recording
3. Camera versatility
4. Top of the line specs (5g, 8gb or more of ram, latest SOC)

That is if they want the Pixel to still be a flagship. If they want to go the Nexus route, they just need to improve battery and video capability while dropping the price into the $600-$700 range.
